Scientific Calculator

On-screen calculator with parentheses, square root, base-10 log, pi and sine, cosine and tangent in radians. Click buttons and press = to solve.

About Scientific Calculator

A button-based calculator for everyday and basic scientific math. Build an expression with digits, the four operators and parentheses, then press = to evaluate the whole line at once, so normal order of operations applies. Function keys insert sin(, cos(, tan(, sqrt( and log( so you can type the argument and close the bracket yourself.

Trigonometric functions take angles in radians, and log is the base-10 logarithm. The π key inserts the constant pi. Results are rounded to at most eight decimal places, and an invalid expression shows Error. Press C to clear the display and start again.

How to use it

  1. Click digits, operators and parentheses to build your expression.
  2. Use sin, cos, tan, sqrt or log to insert a function, then add its value and a closing parenthesis.
  3. Press = to calculate the result.
  4. Press C to clear and start a new calculation.

Questions

Do the trig functions use degrees or radians?

Radians. To work in degrees, multiply the angle by π and divide by 180 inside the brackets, for example sin(30×π÷180).

Which logarithm does the log key use?

It uses the base-10 logarithm.

Can I type with my keyboard?

No. Input is entered with the on-screen buttons.
