About Favicon and App Icon Generator

Upload a logo or square image and download a ready-made icon pack as a ZIP file. The pack contains PNG icons at 16x16, 32x32 and 48x48 for browser tabs, a 180x180 touch icon for phone home screens, and 192x192 and 512x512 icons for installable web apps. A site.webmanifest file that references the two larger icons is included too.

The icons are drawn from the current preview, so any filters, rotation or resizing you applied in the other tabs carry over. Each size is generated on a canvas in your browser, and the ZIP is built locally. Start from a square image: a non-square source is stretched to fit each square size.

How to use it

  1. Upload a square logo or image.
  2. Optionally adjust it in the Filters or Resize tabs.
  3. Open the Favicon Generator tab and click Download Favicon Pack ZIP.
  4. Unzip the files into your site and link them in your page head.

Questions

Does the pack include a .ico file?

No. All icons are PNG files. Current browsers accept PNG favicons linked from the page head.

What happens with a rectangular image?

Each icon is drawn at a square size, so a rectangular source will look stretched. Crop it to a square first for the best result.

What is in the manifest file?

site.webmanifest lists your file name as the app name and points to the 192x192 and 512x512 icons.
