Parquet File Viewer and CSV/JSON Export

Open a Parquet file in your browser to search, sort and page through rows, inspect column types, and export the data to CSV or JSON.

About Parquet File Viewer and CSV/JSON Export

Upload a .parquet or .pq file and the tool reads it locally with a JavaScript Parquet reader. Column chunks compressed with Snappy, Gzip, Deflate or Zstandard are supported. Summary cards show the file name, total rows, column count, row groups and file size.

The Data Grid tab lets you search across all cells, sort by clicking a column header, and page through rows 10, 25, 50 or 100 at a time. The Schema tab lists each column with its physical type, logical or converted type and repetition, plus the writer string stored in the file. The Export tab downloads the full dataset as a CSV file or as a JSON array of objects. Two small sample datasets are available if you want to see how it works before opening your own file.

How to use it

  1. Drop a .parquet or .pq file onto the upload area, or pick a sample dataset.
  2. Review rows in the Data Grid tab, using search, column sorting and page size.
  3. Open Schema and Types to check column names and data types.
  4. Go to Export Studio and download the data as CSV or JSON.

Questions

Is the Parquet file sent to a server?

No. The file is parsed in your browser and exports are generated locally.

Which compression codecs are supported?

Snappy, Gzip, Deflate and Zstandard compressed column chunks can be read.

Does the export include only my search results?

No. CSV and JSON exports always contain every row in the file, regardless of search or sort.
