PDF Metadata Editor

Set the title, author, subject, and keywords stored inside a PDF file. Edit document properties in your browser with no upload.

About PDF Metadata Editor

This tool rewrites the document properties stored inside a PDF. Load a file, fill in the Title, Author, Subject, and Keywords fields, and download a copy with the new values. Keywords are entered as a comma-separated list. These properties appear in a PDF viewer's document information panel and can be read by search tools and file managers.

The edit happens in your browser and the updated file downloads with "metadata-" added to its name. Use it to give a report a proper title before publishing, replace a default author name, or add keywords for an archive. The page content itself is not changed. The fields start with sample values and do not read the file's existing properties, so fill in every field you care about.

How to use it

  1. Drop a PDF file onto the upload area.
  2. Fill in Title, Author, Subject, and comma-separated Keywords.
  3. Click Save Metadata & Download.
  4. Open the file's document properties in a PDF viewer to confirm the changes.

Questions

Does the tool show the current metadata?

No. The fields start with placeholder values rather than the file's existing properties, so enter every value you want the file to have.

Does editing metadata change the pages?

No. Only the document information fields are updated; the page content stays the same.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The new properties are written in your browser and the file is saved directly to your device.
