Local Video Player

Open and play an MP4, WebM, or MOV file in your browser without uploading it. A quick way to check a video file on any computer.

About Local Video Player

This tool plays a video file from your device inside the browser. Drop in an MP4, WebM, or MOV file (up to 50 MB) and it opens in a standard player with play, pause, seek, volume, and full-screen controls. The file is loaded from your device into the page and is never uploaded.

Use it to check that a recording or export plays correctly, to preview a clip on a computer without a dedicated media player, or to look at a file someone sent you. It is a viewer only: it does not trim, convert, compress, resize, rotate, mute, or otherwise edit video, and it cannot save a modified copy. Whether a file plays depends on the codecs your browser supports.

How to use it

  1. Drop an MP4, WebM, or MOV file onto the upload area.
  2. Use the player controls to play, pause, seek, and change the volume.
  3. Click Upload Another Video to open a different file.

Questions

Can this tool edit or convert my video?

No. It only plays the file. Trimming, converting, compressing, rotating, and similar edits are not available.

Why won't my video play?

Playback relies on your browser's built-in codecs. Some MOV or MP4 files use codecs a browser cannot decode; try another browser or a different export setting.

Is the video uploaded?

No. The file is opened locally through your browser and stays on your device.
